Wisła and attractions

Wisła is a well-known place for both weekend and longer vacations of people from Silesia and other regions of Poland, located at the entry to picturesque mountains of Beskid Śląski, in the valley of Wisła river and other smaller, adjacent valleys. The centre of Wisła – central square and pedestrian area – offers many attractions and ways to spend free time: shops, restaurants, bars, cafes with ice cream, a local brewery, a market with local products and others. A park with amphitheater and children’s playground located near the river is also a place to spend nice time with family or friends. Close by there are places for sport activities: beach volleyball court, tennis courts, e-bike rentals, swimming pools and waterpark in Gołębiewski hotel.  Chairlift Skolnity located in the town center provides access to skiing pistes and biking (downhill) tracks. Somewhat further from the center one can visit Adam Małysz ski jumping facility, the lake in Wisła Czarne and many other lifts allowing access to mountains and skiing slopes. Those interested in hiking can visit local mountains: Trzy Kopce Wiślańskie, Równica, Salmopol pass, Barania Góra, Stożek or Czantoria, on which you can have fun on summer skibob track accessible also via chairlift from Ustroń. Not far from Wisła there is Koniaków and Istebna known for lace art and the city of Cieszyn with a beautiful old town center.

In winter Wisła offers many ski lifts and various pistes, from easy ones perfect for beginners to much more demanding. One can find here few sports shops and ski rentals as well as many ski and snowboarding schools. Skibuses will take you to the popular ski slopes. Cross-skiing lovers can rent their skis and use tracks in Wisła Jonidło or great tracks at Kubalonka pass. One can also rent touring skis and go for an off-piste tour enjoying the nature in peace. Szczyrk with its large skiing complex is also not far from Wisła.

Many cultural and sporting events take place in Wisła, including ski jumping tournaments in winter and Beskidy Culture Week in the summer.
